Men pull knife on Upstairs doorman

Police are looking for two men who allegedly pulled a knife on a doorman at the Upstairs Pub after being kicked out for smoking.

Bloomington Police Department Officer Tracy Headley and other officers were dispatched to the area at about 1:27 a.m. Tuesday, said BPD Lt. David Drake, reading from a police report. A call had come in about two men who had just pulled a knife on a doorman at the bar.

The two men had been smoking in the bar, Drake said. When an employee told them to put their cigarettes out, the men refused, and the doorman and another employee escorted them out, Drake said. Once the doorman got the two men outside and tried to shut the door, he realized one of the men had a knife in his hand. The man swung at him but missed and struck the door, Drake said.

The men were last seen going west on Kirkwood Avenue on foot, Drake said. The man who had the knife was described as white, about 31 years old and wearing a pewter necklace with what looked like an arrowhead on it, Drake said. The other man was described as an American Indian, about 33 years old, with a flame tattoo on his left forearm and black spiked hair, Drake said.

Officers found the knife at the scene, which was described as a Buck folding knife with a 3-inch blade, Drake said.
