In February, the National Panhellenic Conference told IU’s Panhellenic Association that women’s formal recruitment needed to change.
Currently, IU’s bid placement rate is 52 percent, almost 25 percent below the national average. The national association wanted IU to come up with a plan to increase their numbers.
After voting, PHA decided to increase the number of sororities women could select and rank during the first and second invite rounds in an April 14 meeting.
But, for the women who didn’t receive bids during this past year’s recruitment process, the change is too little, too late.
Look for the stories of these women as well as more information about the changes and proposals in tomorrow’s IDS.
