NPR host to talk at IU Auditorium

Terry Gross, host of National Public Radio’s “Fresh Air,” will talk about her greatest interviews April 8 at IU Auditorium.

“Terry Gross is a national treasure. She’s certainly one of the greatest interviewers of all time,” said Doug Booher, director of IU Auditorium, in a press release. “Her style thoughtful, intelligent interview style often leads to unexpected insights. We are fortunate to have someone of her caliber speak at Indiana University.”

Gross began her radio career in 1973 at public radio station WBFO in Buffalo, New York where she hosted and produced several arts, women’s and public affairs programs, including “This Is Radio,” a live, three-hour magazine program that aired daily. Two years later, she joined the staff of WHYY-FM in Philadelphia as producer and host of “Fresh Air,” then a local, daily interview and music program. In 1985, WHYY-FM launched a weekly half-hour edition of “Fresh Air with Terry Gross,” which was distributed nationally by NPR.

Tickets are on sale for $25 to $35 for the general public and $12 to $20 for IU students.
