A 22-year-old man was stabbed while walking home from the bars early Friday morning.
The man called police at 3:16 a.m., reporting he walked to the 200 block of East 19th Street, where he was stabbed twice. He told police he was walking with two friends before they parted ways.
He had reached the 200 block when he said he was “jumped” by two or three men, said Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Jeff Canada, reading from a police report.
He was stabbed in the back and again under his arm, both on the left side. He was transported by ambulance to Bloomington Hospital, where he was expected to undergo surgery, Canada said. He has since been released from the hospital.
Police are investigating the situation and plan to follow up with the man after his recovery, Canada said. The BPD asks anyone with information to call Bloomington police at 339-4477.
