Bloomington meth lab busted

Indiana State Police arrested Bloomington residents Billy McAuley, 45, Richard Moore, 32, Shane Robertson, 27, and Michael Walker, 37, early Thursday morning on preliminary charges of manufacturing methamphetamines.

At about 1 a.m., state troopers of the Meth Suppression Section arrived at 9108 W. State Road 45 to serve a search warrant issued by the Monroe Circuit Court, according to a police statement. While searching the home, which belongs to Walker, police discovered materials commonly used to make methamphetamines.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Curt Durnil said a certain amount of intelligence has to be gathered and submitted to a judge before a search warrant can be issued.

Durnil said meth labs have been a problem in the Bloomington community.

“It just doesn’t seem to go away,” he said. “We focus on these people 24/7, 365 days a year.”
