Man arrested for teen “sex parties”

LINTON, Ind. – A convicted sex offender faces sexual misconduct charges alleging he held teenage “sex parties” at his home during which he gave minors alcohol and encouraged them to engage in sex acts.

Vincent Tyrone Carter, 43, was charged this week with sexual misconduct with a minor, two counts of child solicitation and furnishing alcoholic beverages to minors.

A Greene County judge set a $75,000 bond for Carter, a convicted sex offender, and appointed a public defender to represent him. He remained in jail Saturday at the Greene County Jail.

Police say that for weeks Carter, who is unemployed, hosted parties that catered to teenagers at his Linton-area mobile home about 35 miles southwest of Bloomington.
Linton Police Chief Troy Jerrell said investigators interviewed more than 20 youths ranging in age from 12 to 17 who said Carter held alcohol and sex parties at his home.

According to their statements, the man whom the kids called “Dad” or “Daddy” would charge them $5 and purchase rum, vodka and whiskey for them. He also supplied them with sex toys and encouraged them to use them while he watched.

A 13-year-old girl said Carter would deal the cards in games of strip poker and encouraged sexual activity.

Police found out about the alleged parties when a parent and one of the children came to the police station to report the activities.

During the course of interviews with the teenagers, police learned that a 13-year-old girl had intercourse with a 12-year-old boy in several rooms of the trailer, on different occasions.

Two girls, ages 13 and 15, said Carter took them to his bedroom where a pornographic videotape was playing, gave them each a sex toy, patted them on the back and told them to “have a good time,” then returned unexpectedly to watch.

Police who searched the residence confiscated sex aids and devices, pornographic magazines, alcohol, tobacco and receipts for the purchases.

Carter was convicted in 1998 of child molestation and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was also sentenced to 18 months in jail in 2004 for failing to register as a sex offender as required by Indiana law. Carter is currently listed as a sex predator on the registry.
