IU’s Asian Alumni Association and Asian Student Union are having their 2nd annual scholarship volleyball tournament Saturday

IU’s Asian Alumni Association and Asian Student Union are having their second annual scholarship volleyball tournament from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Jessica Kim, president of the Asian Alumni Association, said she wants the tournament to help contribute to the Association’s scholarship fund and also serve as a community builder.

Last year’s event had 10 teams participate and raised $1,000.

The event is free, but all proceeds from concessions and entry fees will go toward the scholarship fund. Twenty teams are participating.

“The first scholarship will be awarded in the fall 2009,” Kim said. “The winner of the merit-based scholarship will be selected based on academics and community service.”
