5 BB bullet holes found at Hillel

IU police were called on Monday after BB gun holes were found in a window in the Helene G. Simon Hillel Center on 730 E. Third St.

Rabbi Susan Shifron showed a police officer five BB-sized holes in a window on the bottom floor of the building, said Capt. Jerry Minger, reading from a police report.

BBs went through an outer pane of the window and were found between the outer and inner panes, Minger said.

Police suspect the BBs came from an angle somewhere west of the building.

Shifron told police she didn’t know when the vandalism occurred, but it was as early as the morning of Feb. 20 and as late as 5 p.m. Monday, Minger said.

Damage was estimated at $200. IUPD is still investigating.
