The IU Police Department is investigating the theft of three boat motors from IU's rowing team.
The motors were reported stolen at 8:54 a.m. Jan. 2, said IUPD Capt. Jerry Minger, reading from a police report.
The missing motors include a 20 horse power Yamaha worth $3,300 and two 15 horse power Yamahas worth $2,800 each.
The motors were used for coaching purposes, Minger said.
IU Rowing team head coach Steve Peterson said the motors were packed up and secured in a gated area, as the team was preparing for their trip to Florida. The lock was still in place when he checked on them, Minger said.
The case is being actively investigated at this time and anyone with information can call 855-4111.
