Countless movies have been made that question the state of this country.
Oliver Stone’s “W.” takes a deep look at President Bush’s rise to power, and Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11” discusses how the Bush Administration used 9/11 as a lame reason to create unjust wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Who would have thought a movie starring a porn goddess and a horror movie legend could question these same issues? Jenna Jameson, known for her porn flicks, and Robert Englund, known for playing Freddy Krueger in the series “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” have joined forces to star in “Zombie Strippers.”
The movie is set in a future where President Bush has just been elected for the fourth time, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is the vice president. With an incredible number of wars in progress, the government wants to make the dead soldiers undead in order make up for lost lives. Things go bad when zombies break loose in an underground strip club owned by Ian (Englund).
“Zombie Strippers” lacks great acting and a solid script, two necessary elements for a good movie, but the directors’ goal isn’t to make the movie Academy Award caliber. Instead, they have tried to use stupidity and satire to emphasize the direction of violence this country is taking.
I think everyone enjoys watching strippers, and anyone who doesn’t look deeply into movies to find the message and just wants to be entertained will enjoy watching these girls get their grooves on with long, shiny silver poles.
The DVD is nothing special and not worth paying attention to. It has the typical behind-the-scenes footage, commentaries and deleted scenes, i.e., extras a viewer rarely cares about.
If you’re looking for a formal movie that will amaze you, “Zombie Strippers” will not fit that role, but it will make you think about the government while watching somewhat of a zombie porno. And I’m not sure life gets any better.
