First and foremost, let me compliment so many young liberals on campus who are representing “their” values like freedom of speech, equality and tolerance with so much class.
It strikes me as so funny that the people who preach about how these principles have been trampled under the current administration are the same people who curse at or spit on students such as myself who wear My Man Mitch and McCain/Palin apparel. Maybe practicing what you preach would be a better way to convert some of us.
And yes, members of the Republican Party has done a poor job of practicing what they preach, but if your party is as good as you claim, perhaps a re-evaluation of your actions is necessary.
As for the IDS, I find your non-endorsement between Mike Sodrel and Baron Hill for House of Representatives hilarious. The editorial board was so baffled that Mr. Sodrel won a vote among the newspaper’s opinion staff, they couldn’t bring themselves to publish an endorsement that expressed the opinion of the majority of people. You, the IDS, might use the argument, “the options are so bad, half of us abstained, so it doesn’t really matter.”
Wake up – half of the country abstains every single election, yet that made no difference when you wanted to promote your liberal candidates.
This is truly just more disgusting evidence of the obvious bias of the Indiana Daily Student.
I have cast my ballot to get back to the roots of the Republican Party from which we have strayed so badly. I hope all of the other young conservatives on campus will come out of the hiding that we are forced into on campus, and find it worthwhile to stand in line on Tuesday and put the country first by voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
