Kevin Enright (D)

Age: 58

Education: Degree in Civil Engineering from IU-Purdue University Indianapolis, GIS Mapping from IU

Experience: Seeking third 4-year term as county surveyor

Top priorities if elected: “County government needs to transition into the digital age of the 21st century. Public access to documents can be improved through digitizing and linking to the Internet.”

Why are you running? “The surveyor sits on the Planning Commission, Drainage Board and Storm Water Management Board. Through these boards, I can help solve the problems of urban sprawl and work to protect our environment.”

Steven “Vic” Farkas (R)

Age: 45

Education: Associate’s degree in land surveying from Vincennes University

Experience: Been surveying since high school, served as county surveyor from 2001 to 2004, currently the owner of Trico Surveying Services Inc.

Top priorities if elected: He strives to serve the public by setting section corners that will make private land surveys cheaper. Currently, Monroe County has only located about half of its section corners.

Why running? “It’s important to re-establish original surveys and section corners and to serve the public.”
