Artist: Andrew Bird
Song: “Oh No”

The first song off his new album Noble Beast “Oh No” is everything you’d expect out of an Andrew Bird song. It’s catchy, pleasant and utilizes trademark Bird techniques like violin, whistling and pensive lyrics. Although it may be nothing new, it’s characteristic Bird, which isn’t a bad thing.

Artist: Jack White and Alicia Keys
Song: “Another Way To Die”

The unlikely duo of Jack White and Alicia Keys has hooked up for new James Bond movie’s theme song. The song takes the soulful voice of Alicia Keys, Jack White’s signature guitar style and the grandiosity of Bond theme to make this a collaboration that’s easy to listen to.

Artist: Fall Out Boy
Song: “Headfirst Slide Into
Cooperstown on a Bad Bet”

Excellent Pete Rose reference aside, this track proves that Fall Out Boy are talented as hell, no matter your opinion of them. This mid-tempo jam features a stellar brass section and the direction changes are seamless. Pete Wentz’s lyrics have finally caught up to vocalist Patrick Stump’s power, as the line “Does your husband know the way that the sun shines beams from your wedding band” thunders throughout.
