The Republican party’s nominee, John McCain, supports change. Romney refers to Washington as liberal. I don’t get it.
The Republicans have had a president in office for the last eight years and controlled Congress for six of the last eight years. They have had plenty of opportunity to get it right. Our country is close to being in shambles after eight years of Republican leadership, and we are asked to believe that now they really mean it when they say they can fix it.
One of the first executive decisions McCain makes is bringing Palin aboard as a running mate. She ran a state with a population the size of Indianapolis for a year and a half. Alaska has a $5 billion surplus thanks to the oil companies. There are no taxes. She gave each citizen $1,200, and Rudy Giuliani boasts that she has an 80 percent approval rating – not hard to do when you hand out money. Should something happen to Mr. McCain, is she ready to run the country? Commander in chief of the armed forces? Doesn’t make me feel safe.
Does John McCain really have our safety in mind with a selection like this?
