Man dies in motorcycle accident

A 21-year-old man died early Wednesday afternoon after his motorcycle failed to negotiate a turn on Old State Road 37.

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was riding with four other individuals on motorcycles, said Bloomington Police Department Captain Joe Qualters. The driver, who was third in the line of motorcyclists, crossed the center line at some point and “either ditched or laid down his bike,” Qualters said.

The driver of the motorcycle struck a truck in the oncoming lane and became pinned beneath it. He was pronounced dead at the Bloomington Hospital.
