IU receives record-breaking $408.6 million from private sector

IU received $408.6 million in funding from the private sector in the 2008 fiscal year, President Michael McRobbie announced today.

The money comes from donations to the IU Foundation and Riley Children's Hospital plus $120.9 million from non-governmental contracts and research grants, according to a press release. IU Foundation's and Riley Children's Hospital's donations were the largest on record.

About 40 percent of the IU Foundation donations were ear-marked for student scholarships and fellowships on all of IU's campuses.
