IU President Michael McRobbie turned the scissors on his Bloomington barber Friday morning, cutting a lock of hair off for charity.

The barber, Frank Meadows of Crosstown Barbershop, had grown his hair for more than two years with plans of donating it to Locks of Love. Meadows said it is his second donation to the charity.

Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization that turns donated hair into wigs and toupees for financially challenged children who have lost their hair because of a sickness.
