IU Sustainability Internship Symposium to be Aug. 15

Students involved with IU's Summer Program in Sustainability will showcase their projects Aug. 15 at the second annual IU Sustainability Internship Symposium.

The symposium will be from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Forest-Greenleaf Dining Hall and will include presentations and a lunch hosted by Residential Programs and Services, according to an IU press release. The lunch will include foods from local vendors.

The interns will share their summer projects, which range from investigating IU's greenhouse gas budget to calculating the carbon footprint of IU's food supply.

"In our view the summer program has been a great success," said David Fuente, program coordinator for the Summer Program in Sustainability, in a press release. "It allows students to wrestle with both theory and practice and contribute to the University in a meaningful way.

Those interested in attending the Sustainability Internship Symposium should contact sustain@indiana.edu for additional details.
