BONNAROO

In recent years, Bonnaroo has expanded its lineup from a jam-band venue to a plethora of contemporary music. The festival is truly an experience in its own. For more information, visit www.bonnaroo.com.

TERRASTOCK

A celebration of this diversity, the Terrastock festival will bring the wide branches of the psychedelic tree together in Louisville, Ky., for a weekend of artists rarely heard by the average American music lover.

TERRASTOCK PREVIEW

Four of the artists, along with local Bloomington act Poison Oak, will play a prequel to the festival this Wednesday at Bear’s Place, giving locals an opportunity to experience Terrastock’s sound.

SUMMERFEST

“The World’s Largest Music Festival” is truly a musical expose — with weeks of ongoing shows. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, the fest will also showcase its annual fireworks on June 26 — the same night as They Might Be Giants, Three Dog Night and Gnarls Barkley. ROTHBURY

“This list is so long and I just get excited every time I read it,” IU junior Randy Smith said about this year’s Rothbury. Out of all the artists, Smith is most thrilled to see Dave Matthews Band. PITCHFORK

Say what you will about its host, but this year’s Pitchfork is sure to be a crowd pleaser, and very inexpensive for the amount of acts it is providing. Friday will feature three acts performing classic albums: Public Enemy’s 1988 It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, Sebadoh’s Bubble and Scrape, Mission of Burma’s Vs. FORECASTLE

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. acclaimed environmental attorney and activist will be making the keynote speech for a festival that is as eco-friendly as it is music-oriented. The event will also be one of the first Miwest fests to include solar-powered stages. Bloomington’s own Prizzy Prizzy Please will also be gracing the stage, to which drummer Ted Wells said they will “rock as hard as we know how to.” For more information, visit www.forecastlefest.com.
