How is Chase Cooper the opinion editor? He never cites his sources and frequently doesn’t get his facts right. In his Jan. 29 column (“Keep the change”) he said that half of the adults in the U.S. would not vote for Hillary Clinton. According to whom? I know she is not overwhelmingly popular, but do you want to tell us where you got your info from? He also said he has had fun watching her lose primaries. She has only lost one primary. Iowa is a caucus, not a primary. She can’t be that unpopular because she received more votes in the Florida primary, which doesn’t even count for the Democrats this year, than the Republican winner John McCain did in the Republican primary.\nCooper also distorts the truth and applies double standards. He once accused John Edwards of being racist because Edwards said, “Pretty soon we’re not going to have a young African-American male population in America. They’re all going to be in prison or dead.” Studies done by scholars at Georgetown, Princeton, and Columbia found that black men are seven times more likely to be in jail than white men. Also, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the leading cause of death among black men ages 18 to 24 is homicide. Cooper talked about how 90-year-old Democratic Sen. Robert Byrd from West Virginia used to be in the KKK, which is true. Cooper chose to ignore that the late South Carolina Republican Sen. Strom Thurmond once ran for President supporting segregation! Cooper frequently pokes fun at Mike Huckabee for being a “liberal” governor, but Cooper’s Facebook profile says he supports the FairTax. Well, the FairTax is a centerpiece of Huckabee’s campaign.\nCooper is nothing more than a Rush Limbaugh groupie. Cooper never has ideas of his own and just repeats whatever he heard Limbaugh say on the radio that day. I hope Hillary Clinton wins the presidency so Cooper will move to Canada. It won’t be that bad Chase, at least you will be able to afford health care.
