Appalled Iowan in a backward state

I came to Indiana with high hopes for my education and for expanding my horizons. I am from Iowa, which is a state that most regard as consisting of just a bunch of farmers and not much else. Having come to Indiana, and reading the article in the IDS about the bill passed that restricted access to birth control, I am shocked at how backward the legislature is. I am absolutely appalled that the people of Indiana are not more cunning and intelligent than to elect representatives that would like to take them back to the Stone Age. For no reason should a pharmacist be allowed to not dispense such a vital drug as birth control that actually reduces abortions! I am at a loss for words at the true stupidity of both this state’s electorate and its chosen elected officials. To pass a bill by such an overwhelming margin that is so egregiously wrong is just mind-numbing. Hopefully some of the 18 senators who voted against the bill will attempt to impart their foresight on their confused and blatantly wrong counterparts who voted for this disgusting piece of legislation.
