IU campuses to unify logos, fonts

Integrated Image Initiative to cost $300,000

A $300,000 marketing project to unify IU's logo and fonts is underway after being approved by the IU board of trustees last June. \nThe Integrated Image Initiative aims to consolidate the messages and visual identity of all eight IU campuses while allowing each unit to maintain its own character. \nAngela Tharp, associate director of University Marketing, said these will be used for applying typography, colors and signatures to IU marketing materials. The IU Style Guide is also included in the project to offer guidelines for writing. \nThe program affects signatures for all IU campuses and even research going on in the University, Tharp said. \nTharp said the project is an ongoing process in which some changes in the style and typography of IU materials have been made and will continue to be updated as needed.\nShe said the goals of the program are to have a single logo and to make sure other units do not focus on their own logos. \n"But, that is not to say they cannot use their own logos for such things as campaigns," Tharp said. \nShe said this initiative will allow IU's entire visual identity to become unified. \n"Block IU is a really strong investment for all units"
