City Hall debuts 'Carved in Stone' exhibit June 3 - 26

City of Bloomington, the Bloomington Area Arts Council presents "Carved in Stone," an exhibit commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Indiana Limestone Sculpture Symposium. More than one dozen current and former participants and instructors in the Symposium will showcase their work in limestone and other stone. An opening reception for "Carved in Stone" was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the City Hall Atrium. The exhibit will be open to the public during regular Showers Building operating hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The exhibit will run through June 26.\nThe BAAC's Indiana Limestone Sculpture Symposium is a unique international symposium that focuses on the versatility of Indiana limestone as a sculptural medium. Carvers from across the world come together and share ideas and technical information at the Bybee Stone Company in Ellettsville. The public is invited to view the progress of the sculptors during the Limestone Symposium Open Houses from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., June 6, 9, 20 and 23.
