Dennis Severns, the father of Cpl. Scott Severns, walks into St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend, Ind., Friday, April 28, 2006, for the funeral of his son. Scott Severns was shot during a robbery attempt Friday, April 21, and died Sunday. A 17-year-old accused of fatally shooting the off-duty police officer during the attempted robbery was charged with murder.
