SEYMOUR, Ind. -- Police officers searched Wednesday for a Seymour man who authorities said held his wife and daughter in their home for days before fleeing with the 2-year-old child.\nPolice issued an Amber Alert for the girl, Andrea Jordan Evans.\nThe abduction was reported by the girl's mother, Brenda Evans, who said her husband left her tied up in the house midday Wednesday, Police Chief Craig Hayes said.\n"Brenda had ropes tied to her wrist and her ankles and had indicated to officers that there had been an ongoing dispute with her husband over the past two or three days during which she was tied and bound and battered at different points," Hayes said.\nThe child was described as 3 feet tall and 35 pounds with blonde, shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a yellow dress and Strawberry Shortcake brand shoes.\nThe girl's father, Thomas J. Evans, 45, was driving a tan 1991 Toyota Corolla and should be considered armed and dangerous, Hayes said.\nEvans had a loaded gun and a knife and has threatened to kill the child, police said.
