Feeling stupid?

I've got a question for you. Have you ever done or said something and the very second it happened you immediately cursed yourself for being so stupid? \nIf you are anything like me, then you answered "yes" to this question. We all have our moments, some more than others, when we feel like the most inane person on the face of the Earth. It wouldn't be so bad if these mishaps occurred when we were by ourselves. But no, they of course happen when we are surrounded by people. And you know they are thinking that somewhere, some village far, far away is missing an idiot, and it just so happens that it is you. \nThat's how I feel most of the day, but then I see other people do and say stupid things, and I think maybe I am not the only dumb person on the entire planet. \nNow I know that there are tons of jokes about how dumb blondes supposedly are, how stupid jocks are or even that people who wear glasses are smarter, but these are just stereotypes and, for the most part, are untrue. Many of the top students in my graduating high school class were blondes. I know people who are both athletic and smart, and lastly, I wear glasses sometimes, and by no means am I a genius. (Side note: When I first typed the word genius, I spelled it wrong.) \nThen again, I have met some people who were dumber than a box of sweatsocks and they were blondes and jocks. So I wonder: Do certain attributes make a person smarter? Intelligencetest.com sure thinks so. According to this Web site, certain personal traits and characteristics can lead to higher IQ scores. One chart on the site says that the bigger you are at birth, the higher your test score will be. I kid you not. So in this case, bigger is better. All the new mothers out there who have painfully given birth to abnormally large babies with enormous heads can take comfort in the probability that their big, fat baby will, statistically speaking, have an IQ score of more than 100. \nFor all of you who think the optically challenged among us are smarter than the rest, you are right, but don't get too excited. The difference between those who wear glasses and those who don't is a little more than one IQ point. Finally, I wanted to know, and many of you might be wondering too, are blondes really any dumber than everyone else? I hate to burst any stereotypical bubbles, but they are not dumb. In fact, among men, blondes score the second highest out of brown, red and black hair. For women, blondes are tied for the highest score with redheads and brunettes. I apologize if you are a dumb-blonde joke writer, but I hear Wendy's is hiring. So I guess that settles it. People with glasses are smarter, blondes aren't stupid and fat babies equal smart babies. With all this said, I still don't feel any smarter.
