Van strikes Bloomington cyclist

An accident at the intersection of 10th Street and Smith Road left a female bicyclist hospitalized Wednesday according to Bloomington Police Department reports.\nBPD responded to a call around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and found a van had struck the bicyclist. The bicyclist was conscious when police arrived and was transported to Bloomington Hospital to be checked for internal injuries, said Sgt. Myrick Williams of the BPD. The driver of the van was uninjured.\nBPD officers were still interviewing the van's driver to determine details of the accident. \nNeither identities of the bicyclist nor the driver were released. No more details were available from either police or hospital officials as of press time Wednesday.
