BPD looking into liquor store robbery

The Bloomington Police Department is currently investigating the Saturday night robbery of Karton King Liquor and Discount Tobacco, 435 S. Walnut St. The events began when two suspects, a man and a woman, entered the liquor store and began wandering around, according to police reports. \nAfter the store cleared of customers, the male suspect displayed a knife to the clerk at approximately 9:45 p.m. and demanded money, according to reports. The suspects then cleared out the cash register and safe and tied up the clerk, covering his mouth in duct tape.\nThe clerk worked himself free in the next hour and called the BPD, who arrived at 10:44 p.m. The suspects were described by the clerk to police as a heavyset female, around 5-foot-6 with dirty blond hair, and a stocky male, around 6-foot-5 with a blond crew cut.\nBPD Capt. Joe Qualters said an investigation of the robbery is ongoing, but no suspects have been taken into custody.
