Professor collapses in Ballantine Hall

66-year-old woman rushed to local hospital

A professor in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures suffered a possible heart attack Tuesday afternoon in her office on the fifth floor of Ballantine Hall, according to the IU Police Department.\nIUPD officers arrived at Ballantine Hall at 11:59 a.m. Tuesday in response to a medical assist call. \nIUPD Shift Commander Laury Flint said Dona Smith, 66, was transported by ambulance to the Bloomington Hospital at 12:22 p.m.\nA Bloomington Hospital spokeswoman said Smith was being treated, but could not release additional information.
