In their second two-day meet this year, many of IU's top athletes continued to bring in strong results for high place finishes this past weekend at Notre Dame for the Meyo Classic.\nFor the first time in 2005, the Hoosiers competed away from home against more than 15 other schools, including host Notre Dame as well as Alabama, Clemson, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Missouri and Wisconsin.\nThe weekend was full of ups and downs for IU. Some athletes continued to place well while others struggled. \nSophomore Stacey Clausing finished second in the 200-meter dash with a personal record time of 24.20 seconds. \nSophomores Courtney Johnson and Lorian Price continued to fight all the way to the finish line in the 60 meter hurdles. Johnson finished fourth with a time of 8.47 seconds while Price took fifth place with a personal best of 8.53 seconds. Later, Price took fourth in the long jump competition with a height of 5.92 meters.\nIn the 400-meter dash, sophomore Michelle Huber finished 11th with a time of 56.36 seconds, and teammate LaDonna Ray placed 21st with a time of 55.20.\nJunior Ara Towns did not place high in her events for the first time this year. Towns placed 13th in the 60 meter dash and 12th in the 200-meter dash with times of 7.71 and 24.50, respectively. \nTwo of IU's top distant runners fared well at the meet. \nIn the 3,000-meter run, junior Jessica Gall placed fourth with a time of 9 minutes 30.92 seconds, which is a NCAA provisional qualifying time, and senior teammate Allison Miller finished 11th in the 5,000 and ran a time of 18:20.34. \nFreshman Zakiya Robinson was 12th in the long jump with a career-best leap of 5.72 meters, and her fellow long jump teammates of freshman Laura Oehlman and sophomore Sarah Gilleran each recorded a 1.60 meters in the event, but the judge's decision gave Oehlman 19th place and Gilleran 22nd. Robinson also placed 16th in the 200 with a run of 25.15.\nFreshman Nikki Peters ran a time of 2:14.12 minutes in the 800-meter dash for a 25th-place finish.
