Soweto Gospel Choir sings for IU\nThe Soweto Gospel Choir will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the IU Auditorium. Described as an awe-inspiring vocal ensemble, the choir performs tribal, traditional and popular African gospel music. Earthy rhythms, rich harmonies, a capella renditions and charismatic performances combine to uplift the soul and celebrate the spirit of South Africa. The concert will also feature traditional dancers and drummers and dynamic four-piece band. This "Voices from Heaven" tour includes a range of music, such as "Amazing Grace," "Paradise Road," works by Otis Redding and the reggae of Jimmy Cliff. Sketch comedy at the witching hour\nBloomington's premier sketch comedy troupe, "All Sorts of Trouble for the Boy in the Bubble," will perform an hour-long set of student- written, directed and staged sketch comedy at midnight Saturday at the Bloomington Playwright's Project, 312 S. Washington St.. The troupe combines satire, slapstick and absurdist humor on the Project's side stage to comment on America's culture of political correctness and pop culture obsession. 'Vagina Monologues' promote stop to \nviolence against wo\nStudent actors will perform Eve Ensler's "Vagina Monologues" today, Friday and Sunday. The play is part of an effort to promote International V-Day, a campaign seeking to empower women to find their collective voices and demand an end to the epidemic levels of violence and abuse on their campuses, in their communities and around the world. The show will begin at 8 p.m. today and Friday and at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Willkie Auditorium. The proceeds from the performance are donated directly to local organizations working to stop violence against women, such as Middleway House, RAISE and V-DAy Spotlight 2005: Women of Iraq. Tickets are $7 with student ID, $10 for general public.
