In response to Hina Alam's article ("Students look at moving abroad in light of election," Nov.29) there are a few comments I would like to make. \nFirst, to Mr. Angel Rivera who states "I moved to America from Puerto Rico," your move was no different than, say, someone moving from New York to Florida. \nPuerto Rico is in the United States. Any seventh grader could tell you that. \nSecond, to Mr. William Todd: Not being patriotic is NOT treason. Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution states clearly "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving Aid and Comfort." Real patriots read the constitution before they run their mouths. Every American has the right to move out of the country. In fact thousands of Americans work overseas for private companies. I myself was offered a job with Saudi Air as an aircraft mechanic in 1991 that would have paid me over $65,000 a year (and it was mostly tax free money). Would that have made me a traitor? \nIn fact a lot of U.S. companies have "moved" their offices overseas to avoid taxes. I guess they all should be brought up on treason charges too. (FYI, we don't shoot traitors here. It's death by lethal injection).\nLastly, if anyone doesn't think disheartened Americans moving abroad isn't a problem, just look at Nazi Germany when all their intellectuals and artists up and left. All that was left was a war machine, and a hated one at that.\nTony Di Giacomo\nSenior
