I'm writing in response to the column "The reality of big labor" (Dec. 1). My question to Edward Delp is this: What makes you think that a lot of pizza drivers really want to be pizza drivers? Have you checked out our economy lately? There are many very hard working people out there waiting tables, delivering pizzas, mopping floors and driving cabs for all the people who are more fortunate in this world to have that better job. They may have little to no other options for a job out there. Have you checked out the economy (and local economy) lately? Geez man, if they want to form a union to better their lives, what's the problem? Have you ever delivered pizza? Haven't you ever heard of checks and balances? How about you just go ahead and write about the postal workers, too. Oh, and tell Wal-Mart they can do no wrong and see where that leads. Believe it or not, laws and unions are usually in place to protect the people.
