So Sharon Reed went on TV naked, it's a sign of the times. What is also a sign of the times is the ratings at WOIO TV soared. Some say it was unprofessional and risked credibility; I say she was doing her job. \nIt was 11 p.m.; if kids were watching it was not her fault; as far as I know she got her facts straight. Reed was reporting on a nude photo installation that included hundreds of people in the town. It was a first person story and she put a very interesting spin on it. \nI believe the opposition is out of fear that news anchors will have to compete with the sensationalism of nudity. In my opinion Reed's actions were a part of her story, and weren't completely unnecessary. If the nudity did not fit into the story, I would totally disagree. I think we should put nudity into context before we begin to judge. \nFrankly, what surprised me the most is that it was a black woman. I wouldn't have guessed a black woman in a professional career would ever do her job nude. Black women have been told they are ugly and don't fit the standard. Well, I am happy to see a black woman secure enough with her body, job and status to go on TV nude. I always hear that no one wants to be with black women anymore, or that black women are not the hot commodity. I completely disagree, and I think Sharon Reed would too. \nPatrice Worthy
