IUPUI student still missing

Police -- 'No clues, evidence to suspect foul play'

INDIANAPOLIS -- Friends and relatives did not find much in their search Saturday for a missing IU-Purdue University of Indianapolis student, but they say the effort was still productive.\nMolly Dattilo, 23, has been missing for about three weeks, and police say they have no clues and no evidence to suspect foul play.\nCelestra Hoffman, Dattilo's sister, organized an impromptu search Saturday of a two-mile radius of her sister's apartment in Indianapolis.\nDespite the short notice, Hoffman said over 125 people showed up to help.\n"It was very, very nice that a lot of people showed up," Hoffman said Sunday. "The most notice somebody had was two days. We couldn't plan it, I just had to go with it. We knew if we waited too long, there was no chance of finding anything."\nDattilo, an Eastern Kentucky University student who had been attending summer classes at IUPUI, was last seen the evening of July 6 as she headed to a fast-food restaurant to apply for a job.\nPolice divers searched a pond while others combed the surrounding neighborhood.\nHoffman said they did not find anything that shed light on Molly's whereabouts, but she was encouraged by how many people showed up to help.\n"You don't expect to find a lot," Hoffman said. "I was just grateful for the support. We wanted to show Indianapolis that there are people that believe she's more than a missing person. There must have been foul play involved"
