"The Prince and Me," or as I now refer to it, "The Prince and (add your name in the blank)," is a film which plays out onscreen the girlish dream of finding Prince Charming. Although in today's world, the land of queens and kings are only found in books. So when I invited six of my girlfriends to view the film with me, deep down we all dreamed of being in our own "Cinderella story."\nPaige, played by Julia Stiles, is the down-to-earth, Midwestern country girl, who dreams of becoming a doctor and changing the world. Entering into her final year at university in Wisconsin, Paige is focused on getting into medical school until she meets Eddie. Eddie, played by Luke Mably, is really the Crown Prince of Denmark, but is spending some time away from the pressures of royal life. The two could not be more opposite. Paige has had to work and earn everything her whole life, and Eddie, posing as a college student, is accustomed to the finer ways of life.\nHowever, as they say, opposites attract, and in no time the romance between Eddie and Paige begins to climax. But when Eddie is discovered, and forced to go back to Denmark, Paige wonders whether true love is more important than anything else.\nBut the question Paige now must ask herself: is she ready to give up all her dreams and become Denmark's next queen?\nInitially I was not expecting the film to be as funny as it was. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments, such as Eddie going home with Paige for Thanksgiving and tractor drag racing: the embarrassing moments that a foreigner must always endure. Stiles is good in her role; however she does not seem to reach much below the surface level of her character. Also there is one horrible scene at the beginning of the film with Paige and three of her girlfriends at a college bar, which seems incredibly fake. Malby is great as the playboy prince turned starstruck lover. His dashing good lucks, and crisp English accent brought plenty of heart fluttering sighs to much of the female audience. Ironically enough, he looked quit a bit like Prince William of the U.K.\nThis film is a fun, romantic comedy for every girl who has ever dreamed of becoming a princess.
