Eigenmann food store becomes site of assault, robbery before spring break

Junior Fred Williams was assaulted and robbed at the Eigenmann food store by a group of male students he knew March 11, according to the IU Police Department.\nIUPD Lt. Jerry Minger said two of the males asked Williams about money he owed their friend and then assaulted him.\nIn the altercation, Williams lost his ID holder containing identification and his IU Credit Union debit card. Williams told IUPD he received a call from the credit union informing him his card was used to pay for $35 worth of pizza and two gas fill-ups.\nNo formal charges have been filed, and Minger said IUPD detectives will be calling the suspected males in for interviews.\nIn a separate incident March 10, an unspecified number of Eigenmann food store employees were caught on tape stealing food from the store.\nThe owner called the IUPD to document the incident, but no criminal charges will be filed. Employees involved in the theft may be fired as a result, Minger said. He added the case will be sent to the dean's office and referred to the Office of Student Ethics to be taken care of using common internal judicial processes.
