Fans of the circle pit unite, because Hatebreed's third album The Rise of Brutality will hit listeners harder than bricks. \nThe Connecticut-based group combines death-metal intensity with elements of hardcore, adds some angst and aggression and then unleashes a brutal sound so aggressive your grandma will want to get up and smash something. Lead vocalist Jamey Jasta barks out lyrics that connect with his listeners and encourages them to stand up and be heard. Adding to Jasta's vocals are the double kick drums and a couple of melodic guitar moments which give this band their unrelenting sound.\nUnlike many other metalcore groups, Hatebreed has a very unique sound. The CD proves it is not for the weak of heart, opening with "Tear it Down" and then continuing on to the blisteringly fast "Facing What Consumes You." The pulse-pounding momentum continues until the very end with the final two tracks "Choose or be Chosen" and "Confide in No One." Please note though that unlike other groups, Hatebreed does not play ballads. They merely offer songs that range from fast and intense to blazingly fast and extreme. \nIn the world of metalcore, there is always room for another album that hits like a sledgehammer.
Hatebreed is not Jasta 'nother metalcore band
