Any snowboarding video game played since approximately 1997 will automatically be compared to the legendary Cool Boarders 2, and the new SSX3 is certainly up to the challenge. \nThis new arcade style game from EA Big hits the slopes with all the action-packed courses and crazy tricks that have been standard on snowboarding games for the past few years. All the new games in this genre seem to try and outdo their predecessors and this one is no different. The game setting puts the gamer on one giant mountain and pushes the gamer to complete a series of races and courses to move up the mountain towards the ultimate peaks at the summit. \nThe game speed is exceptionally fast paced, and together with a brightly colored backdrop makes the game intensely entertaining. The concept of climbing the mountain with success is neat but also frustrating as one must compete on the same course numerous times to unlock the rest of game. The target audience of extreme athletes will probably see this game as a fresh new look at one of the world's top new sports; however the ultra-realistic game junky could easily get annoyed with the giant tricks and gaudy scores.
