Although the Hoosiers were able to upset one of the nation's best teams in Iowa, they weren't able to knock off the best team in the nation as they fell Saturday 6-0 to No. 1 Wake Forest. However, with the win over the Hawkeyes, the Hoosiers improved their Big Ten record to 1-5 and now have an overall season record of 8-9. \nCoach Amy Robertson said in a statement that she was very excited about the program's first win over a nationally-ranked, top-10 team. \n"This is the program's first win over a top-10 opponent, and the first win over a ranked opponent this season," Robertson said. "This win was truly a team effort; the team reacted well to the ball and stayed in the game the entire time."\nThe Hoosiers started out slow against the Hawkeyes, and at halftime the Hawkeyes led 2-0. However, the Hoosiers came back in the second half and got on the board when senior Erica Nilsson scored her fifth goal of the season. Another senior scored the tying goal of the game as senior Jamie O'Pray reached the back of the net with just under five minutes remaining in regulation. Robertson was very happy with the play of her seniors.\n"The seniors wanted a game to remember, and they went out there and created one," Robertson said. Junior setter Victoria Zimmerman distributed 36 assists during the match and compiled seven digs. Michigan's victory improved its record to 16-7 and 8-4 in conference. The weekend started off much like it finished, with a loss and a sweep. The Hoosiers traveled to East Lansing, Mich., to try and jump start their reeling season against the Spartans but fell 30-24, 30-23, 30-23. The news continued to sour as junior Christina Archibald failed to reach the double-digit mark in kills for the first time in 32 matches.\nSeniors Melissa Brewer and Monique Pritz turned in strong performances as both reached double figure kill marks, and Pritz finished with a season-high 13 kills.\nUp next, IU returns home for a pair of Big Ten matches.
