911 service down Tuesday

The 911 emergency service shut down Tuesday afternoon in Monroe and surrounding counties for about an hour, according to IU Police Department spokesman Lt. Jerry Minger.\nThe Bloomington Police Department noticed the problem first when someone trying to call 911 couldn't get through. Minger said people could only hear a busy signal.\nBPD then called IUPD to see if it was having the same problem. Minger said he posted a warning on the campus access channel to call IUPD's administrative line, 855-4111, if there were any problems.\nAt about 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, the 911 service was up and running again.
