Man sentenced after string of robberies\nSOUTH BEND -- A man was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to two bank holdups in St. Joseph County.\nThe holdups were among a string of at least 15 bank robberies committed by a man who often wore a suit and tie, earning him the nickname "The Well-Dressed Robber."\nTimothy Jackson, 40, also received a 20-year sentence June 13 in LaPorte County after pleading guilty to three holdups there. That sentence and the eight-year term imposed Monday by St. Joseph County Judge John Marnocha will run at the same time.\nThe string of holdups is believed to have included banks in St. Joseph, Elkhart, LaPorte, Porter and Marion counties, police said.\nThe plea agreements in St. Joseph and LaPorte counties are part of an overall agreement to wrap up all the cases without having trials in the three other counties, public defender Gregory Kauffman said.\nJackson has told officials he robbed banks to support his drug habit.
