Diver comes up short in title chance

The Big Ten-Champion women's swimming and diving team concluded a successful season Saturday when they finished 16th at the National Championships in Auburn, Ala. IU finished with 66 points while Auburn walked away with the team title by scoring 536.\nSenior Sara Hildebrand placed fourth in the 10-meter platform competition. She was defeated by senior Natalia Diea of Ohio State. Hildebrand had defeated Diea just one month ago at the Big Ten Championships. Junior Cassandra Cardinell placed fifth in the same event as did senior Lori Matthys who finished seventh.\nJunior Sarah Fiden finished 15th in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Freshman Lauren Lubus also had a 15th place finish in the 200-yard butterfly.
