Jazz legends harp on city

On tour for Toots' 80th birthday, jazz legends Toots Thielemans and Kenny Werner performed for a half-full Buskirk-Chumley Theatre Monday night. The duo, performing in the Jazz From Bloomington series, were promoting their recently released self-titled album. Werner and Thielemans have collaborated with the great musicians of their times, from Miles Davis to Charles Mingus. Thielemans may best be known for the harmonica part on "Sesame Street" theme. While in Bloomington, Werner will be conducting a clinic open to the public on jazz improvisation at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday in MA 454.
