Vanderjagt powers Colts to victory\nINDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis wanted to show its defense could be as stout as Baltimore's. But the Colts still needed five field goals from Mike Vanderjagt to beat the Ravens Sunday. His 38-yarder with 4 seconds left won it 22-20 for the Colts, who once called Baltimore home. The Colts limited Jamal Lewis to 75 yards rushing, had five sacks, forced three turnovers and played well enough to win their third straight game.\nHoosiers ousted from tournament\nIU women's tennis players junior Linda Tran and senior Karie Schlukebir fell in their consolation match at the Riviera ITA All-American Doubles Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif., Friday.\nThe pair, ranked No. 13 in the latest ITA poll, were competing against a field of 15 of the best doubles pairs in the nation.\nTran and Schlukebir fell to Duke's Julie DeRoo and Amanda Johnson, 8-3, which eliminated them from the tournament. DeRoo and Johnson were the No. 18 doubles pair in the nation. \nThe Hoosiers compete next at the ITA Midwest Championships on Oct. 24.\nNovices take first at regatta\nThe Hoosiers wrapped up a solid weekend at the Head of the Rock Regatta highlighted by the first place finish of the novice 4 at the time of 19:38. The boat was rowed by freshmen Laura Wharen, Kati Peiss, Lauren Anderson, Barret Belstra and Laura Teskoski. They beat out two strong Loyola Academy crews that finished second (19:52) and third (20:29). In the double race, the Hoosiers placed third (19:36), seventh (21:28) and eighth (21:33).\nHead coach Mark Wilson said he was pleased with how the day went. He had every girl row in at least two races, and in some cases even three races. He said rowing more races in the fall helps the girls improve more for their main focus, which are the races in the spring.\n"Our philosophy in the fall is that the more rowing opportunities, the better," Wilson said in a statement.
