The community got the chance to tour Monroe County Airport and view vintage and modern airplanes on display Saturday at Air Fair 2002.\n"(The Air Fair) is there to make the community aware there is an airport out here," said Dennis Ready, a volunteer.\nThe main attraction of the event was the fully-restored "Yankee Lady," a B-17G heavy bomber from the World War II era. Visitors were able to walk within the plane before and after it flew for the show.\nAlso on display were radio-controlled model airplanes and test planes from the Experimental Aircraft Association. The group offered free rides for children throughout the day.
