Water, water everywhere...

Students leaving class late Tuesday afternoon ran into a two-hour deluge across campus. Traffic was backed up along 10th Street from Woodlawn Avenue through Jordan Avenue as streets began to flood from the storm cell that passed over Bloomington before 3 p.m.\nThe Jordan River, which runs through the heart of the Bloomington campus, crested over its banks, spewing water onto neighboring streets and fields. Minor accidents and disabled vehicles were reported at Seventh Street and Indiana Avenue as well as 10th Street and Fee Lane. The storm also set off the Music School's fire alarm located in its library. \nBut while the rain caused some chaos for IU Police Department and motorists, many students enjoyed the wet weather. Some peddled bicycles through the downpour, while one peddled his bike through the teeming Jordan River. Students were also seen sliding in the puddles of muddy water in Dunn Meadow and Woodlawn Field.
