Recreational Sports staff win awards

The National Intramural Recreational Sports Association awarded three staff members from the IU Division of Recreational Sports with national honors at its annual conference in Reno, Nev.\nWinners included: \n• Kathy Bayless, assistant dean and director of the Division of Recreational Sports, received the NIRSA Award for Merit. This award acknowledges exceptional performance and dedication, encourages creativity and innovation, and establishes standards of excellence in professional achievement.\n• Kristie Moses, graduate assistant for Intramurals, Club Sports and Special events received the William N. Wasson Student Leadership and Academic Award, which recognizes outstanding students who are active participants, employees, and/or volunteers in collegiate recreational sports departments. The award recognizes an undergraduate and graduate students who represent the highest standards and have demonstrated self-improvement, academic success, volunteerism, leadership and promoting inclusion, according to a pres release.
