The IU women's rowing team opens its spring season in Sacramento, Calif., this weekend. The Sacramento Invitational, played host to by Cal State-Sacramento, involves eight teams, including Cal-Berkeley and Cal-Davis, who made it to the NCAA Championships in 2001.\nThis is the Hoosiers first appearance in the Invitational in their three years of existence at the varsity level. The Hoosiers compete in the Varsity 8 and Novice 8 both Saturday and Sunday. \n4 wrestlers compete in NCAAs\nFour IU's wrestlers travelled to Albany, N.Y., to compete in the NCAA Championships. Following IU's eighth place finish at the Big Ten Championship, the four chosen to represent IU at the NCAAs are junior Greg Schaefer, sophomore Coyte Cooper, senior Viktor Sveda and freshman Pat DeGain.\nESPN2 will televise the finals Saturday at 7:30 p.m., which will be re-aired April 9 at 1:30 p.m. on ESPN.\nA former Michigan basketball booster, Ed Martin was indicted on charges of giving ex-Wolverines star Chris Webber and other players more than $600,000 during their high school and college careers.\nMartin and his wife were arrested yesterday on charges of running an illegal gambling business, conspiracy and money laundering. Both pleaded innocent and were released on $10,000 bond.\nIn addition to Webber, who reportedly received about $280,000 from 1988-93, Robert Traylor received $160,000, Maurice Taylor received $105,000 and Louis Bullock, who played at Michigan from 1995-99, received $71,000.
