Aquatic Center to close temporarily\nThe SRSC's Counsilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center is temporarily closing for maintenance. The facility will be closed from August 6 through September 3. \nDuring that time, students will be able to take advantage of expanded open swim hours at the HPER's Royer Pool. The new hours will be Saturdays and Sundays: 2:30 - 8 p.m., and Monday through Friday: 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 - 8 p.m. Visit www.recsports.indiana.edu for more information and updates.\nRed Cross Offers Adult CPR Course\nThe Monroe County Chapter of the American Red Cross will be teaching an adult CPR course from 6-10 p.m. Monday. Those in attendance will learn: methods for recognizing an emergency and formulating an emergency action plan, clearing a blocked airway, performing rescue breathing and adult CPR and caring for heart attack victims. For more information or to register, call 332-7292 Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.\nOCM receives EPIC Award\nThe Indianapolis chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators has awarded two people in IU's Office of Communications and Marketing with the Excellent Performance in Communications award.\nAn IU School of Music viewbook was the basis of the award. The book was designed by Rick Faris and written and edited by Linda Stephenson from OCM's Marketing Publications team. The award was presented Tuesday in Indianapolis.\nBoth award recipients have degrees from IU -- Faris received his bachelor of fine arts degree from IU, while Stephenson has a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina and a master of arts degree in journalism from IU.\nThe International Association of Business Communicators includes more than 13,000 public relations professionals in 40 countries worldwide.
